A Genuine Toyota rear load sensing proportioning valve or often called rear brake compensator valve for the Land Cruiser 90 Series.
This new valve comes boxed by Toyota as pictured and mounted to the rear bracket, has a rubber dust cover, bleed nipple, and adjuster rod with new spring for a complete fitment.
The valve has fitting holes to take the 3 metal brake pipes going in and out and is mounted to the chassis at the rear. If you metal brake pipes are corroded then any reasonable Garage or Motorfactors will usually make up any pipe to length.
When a vehicle becomes loaded the rear axle weight increases, the diagonal linkage running from the axle up to the load proportioning valve acts by pressing in the valve plunger which in turn increases the brake bias to the rear. The result is more braking at the rear which enables increased traction at the tyres due to the extra loading being applied.
These valves are often found seized and usually only picked up on when it comes to the MOT.
