Details

A Genuine Toyota Steering Column shaft section for the Land Cruiser 100 series. This shaft fits from the Joining Coupling down to the Steering Rack, approx 46cm in length it has a splined fitting where it joins to the coupling, then down at the rack, it has the small universal joint (UJ) with bolt hole fixing to secure to the Rack.
The shaft also has the Collapsible section, a convoluted looking part of the column that is designed to compress in the unfortunate case of an accident.

Pls Note: This shaft is not compatible with models that have VGRS (Variable Gear Ratio System)

It is becoming more common for the small Steering Column Universal Joint to wear which is a MOT failure and a cause of "vague steering", in which case a new shaft is required. In turn should the collapsible part be compressed in an accident then again it needs replacing.

Specs & Fitment	Q. How do I know if I have VGRS or not? A. VGRS stands for "Variable Gear Ratio Steering" - basically it enables easier handling during low-speed driving and provides better stability during high-speed driving than conventional steering by changing the gear ratio. Models with VGRS will have a warning light on the dashboard "VGRS", also in the main column will effectively be an additional cylindrical shaped motor with loom attached, this provides the additional assistance to models with VGRS. You cannot fit a normal rack to those models with VGRS.
