The Genuine Toyota Power steering box Cross Shaft - part number 44111-60030 for the various Toyota Hilux pickups Mk4/5 and Surf 130 models listed in specs and fitment that have the Independent Front suspension or IFS.
- The Cross Shaft is fitted inside the Power Steering box (IFS models only), the pitman arm fits to the splined end of the shaft.
- Requires a full strip down of the steering box - usually only carried out by a specialist
- This shaft is often found worn at the gear drive but more so at the point where it contacts the output shaft seal causing it to leak.
- The pitman arm attaches to the tapered splined end with a large nut, on occasion excessive force to remove a pitman arm can lead to a damaged shaft - if that's the case then it will require a new shaft.
