About this Toyota filter primer head:
- Fits Land Cruiser HDJ80 / HDJ81 without Heater option - supplied as per our images
- Only fits Build dates from 08/1992-01/1995 with the 12-Valve 1HDT engine (Earlier 12-valve models use a different filter head)
- Original Toyota part number 23301-17170
- Comes with the black primer ontop
- Has a fuel feed (12mm) and return (12mm) pipe fitted.
- Casting has two main holes to fasten to the mounting bracket
- Genuine Toyota packaging within a sealed bag.
- The fuel filter attaches to the thread of the filter primer head.

These units are supplied and packaged by Toyota. They are pre-tested using a diesel type fluid giving a strong smell and often fluid residues within the bags when opened.
The fuel filter (FUEF05 if required) screws onto this primer head which is then primed on top to draw fuel from the fuel tank.
The primer head can fail which allows air into the system but without leaking fuel, fuel can then gravity drain back to the tank causing poor starting or even a loss of power.
The primers are not that efficient at drawing fuel through, we advise filling the new filter with clean fuel prior to fitment to help with the initial priming.
