Toyota list this as the No.1 air intake hose as it is the first hose from the air filter box.
This is the hose that fits from the air filter box to the intake manifold and is a direct replacement of the original.
This hose is often found split under continual movement of the engine, it should be periodically checked and if found split or perishing then it's strongly advised to be replaced else straight away else unfiltered air will enter the engine causing eventual damage.
