One brake pad set consists of four individual pads which is enough to fit both of the front calipers. Two of the individual pads with the central wear indicators are the same and the other two are handed with a wear indicators on the opposite corner of each pad.
About Aisin Optamix Brake Pads:
- European Regulation 90 (R90) Approved. Keeping with the R90 testing every pad will be marked with the R90 approval.
- Aisin Optamix brake pads use extreme bonding materials, this prevents the pads friction material from de-bonding under extreme heat and pressure caused when the brakes are applied.
- Using Aisin pads provide you with the confidence that you are fitting the best pad available, providing excellent stopping power, long life, minimum dusting, optimize noise and vibration control and 100% asbestos free!
- When the pad wears to its minimum the wear indicators will scrape against the discs causing a noise indicating to the driver its time to renew, just like the original.
- The pads with the wear indicators in the middle always go on the inside of the disc, nearest the engine.
- Friction material thickness approx. 9mm.
- One set of pads will fit both front brake calipers.

Hybrid Alloy Friction Material:
The ideal solution that brings together three technologies offering nothing but advantages.
Normally, the friction materials in brake pads are either semi-metallic, organic or ceramic. Each of these technologies offers specific advantages – but also well-known disadvantages. The hybrid technology used by Optamix combines these three technologies, and keeps only the advantages.
Back Plate:
The back plates are sand-blasted to ensure maximum adhesion force. This maintains the optimum connection between the friction material and support, guaranteeing the required thermal conductivity and reduction in vibration.
Sand blasting and adhesive layer for the best adhesion. For premium ranges and industrial vehicles, mechanical retention system technology is utilised to guarantee maximum mechanical resistance.
Underlayer Functions:
There are four main functions of the under layer within the Optamix brake pads.
- Mechanical Strength
- Vibration Reduction
- Heat Transfer Barrier
- Noise Reduction
Adhesive Layer:
Aisin Optamix uses an adhesive layer which ensures an adhesion force of the material well above the material itself – with the certainty of 100% of the bonded surface in the 'shear test' and a breaking force of three times the minimum required by regulations.
