Full 45mm Shackle & Torsion Bar Lift Kit complete with Pedders 9100 Series Twin Tube gas shock absorbers for Hilux Pickups Mk4, Mk5 & LN107.
Raise your vehicle and transform the appearance, and the handling, both on and off-road whilst making way for the option of larger tyres with this new complete shackle and torsion bar lift kit.
Features the very popular Pedders front torsion bars to lift the front end, the Karsons 45mm extended rear shackles with Nolathane eperformance bushes, and they are dampened by the Pedders 9100 series gas shock absorbers for the front and for the rear we use the Foam Cell for controlling more weight. Pedders specially developed shocks for 4x4 vehicles combine great off-road performance with maximum on-road comfort.
- As with all suspension, shocks supplied, paint is not covered under warranty due to the very nature and position of the component.
- Always ensure your front wheel alignment and geometry is checked after installation.
Kit Contains;
- 1x Pair of Karsons 45mm Lift (approx) Shackles with Nolathane performance bushes Bushes
- 1x Pair of Pedders Heavy Duty Torsion Bars
- 2x Pedders Extended Gas Front Shock Absorbers (Gas Shocks Expand on their own)
- 2x Pedders Extended Foam Cell Rear Shock Absorbers (Foam Cell Shocks do not Expand on their own but control more weight for the rear)
Front ride height is set by the fitter, adding more or less tension will raise or lower the front ride height and ride.
Front shocks - With its huge 16mm sintered hardened piston, 35mm internal bore and 54mm external bore this shock is perfect for both general purpose road and off-road use. It uses nitrogen gas pressure to enable consistent and precise ride control without compromising on ride comfort.
Gas shocks will naturally expand out under the gas pressure.
Rear shocks - With its huge 17mm sintered hardened piston, 41mm internal bore and 61mm external bore this shock is perfect for both general purpose road and off-road use. It uses foam cell technology to enable consistent and precise ride control without compromising on ride comfort in the most extreme terrains.
Foam Cell shocks do not expand out on their own (this is not a fault) but control the extra weight generally used on the leaf sprung rear models.
The advantage of a twin tube design like the Pedders Trak-Ryder, especially in off-road conditions is that if any large stones are flicked up off the road and come into contact with the body of the shock absorber and dent it, it will not affect the operation of the shock absorber.
Ideal for the motorists who are after that extra performance and sports handling.

Questions & Answers for Pedders 45mm Full Suspension Lift Kit
Are the Torsion bars handed?
Yes, LH and RH, they are marked at the splined ends with directional arrows as well.
Are they easy to fit?
It is only basic nut and bolt work for a mechanic or good DIY, however, the difficulty lies in removing your old ones, that will all depend on the condition of the vehicle and the amount of corrosion that may be found. Lubricating a few days before hand will always help. The front of the torsion bar slides into the top wishbone housing, the rear to the sub-assembly arm anchor which is then adjusted by the adjust bolt.
Can I not just adjust my original torsion bars?
In short, yes, if you model is soft at the front and shocks in good order then you can apply a little more tension.
The problem arises when too much torsion is applied, for example, when trying to lift the front end of the original Torsion bars and so exceeding their designed specifications.
A good analogy to help explain this is:
Imagine holding out your hand and trying to twist your little finger, the more you twist the more it wants to return, that's how the torsion bar works, now twist too far and you will snap your finger, that's not good!
Same applies to a torsion bar, apply to much tension to an already weak torsion bar and the inevitable will happen, maybe not a first but continually applying torsion when a suspension goes through its movements may result in a serious failure, so if adjusting be careful.
The thicker heavier duty torsion bars will allow for this extra torsion when lifting the front end.
