Details

A Genuine Toyota Left Hand, passengers side rear brake drum backing plate for the Hilux Pickup's from 1997-2004 models LN165, KDN165 and Imports KZN165, LN167 & LN172.

Toyota brake backing plates are handed and different from side to side, please do check the part description being ordered.

This brake drum backing panel is often founded corroded or damaged which is an MOT failure. The rear shoes, wheel cylinder and hand brake bell crank lever etc all bolt to this panel, which in turn is then held to the axle casing via the 4 studs through the rear wheel bearing cast housing.

Fitting Guide:
In order to replace you will need to strip the complete rear half down once removed from the axle, this will involve removing the heat shrunk collars and rear wheel bearing from its housing in order to remove from the backing plate, where applicable the puller will be an excellent addition to make this job a whole lot easier!
