Details

A direct replacement pair of Genuine Toyota standard rear coil springs for the Land Cruiser 100 series with Active Height Control (AHC) fitted.

These pair of 100 series rear coils are the original Toyota purple painted band mark 485mm free length coil, 48231-6A770. 485mm is the length of the coil if simply sat on the bench i.e not fitted, they have been manufactured to the original spring rates.

This coil is not compatible with the Pink band coil that can also be fitted to models with AHC so please do check.

Models with AHC cannot fit uprated rear coils if maintaining the original AHC setup due to the dampers etc, increasing springs rates will affect the ride and bring on the suspension warning lights so only standard coils can be fitted if maintaining the rest of the AHC system.

Please note:
Toyota fitted various rear coil types to the 100 series using coloured bands to distinguish them pending loads etc.
These coils are ONLY compatible for the LandCruiser 100 series with AHC suspension (Active Height Control) & PURPLE BAND,
Some models with AHC can also be fitted with a "Pink" band coil, free height 455mm, our COIL002 Purple Band 485mm can not be used to replace the Pink band coil.

I don't have AHC (Active Height Control) will this coil work?
No, this coils must only be used on models fitted with the AHC fitted and the purple band specification, free length 485mm.

Can I use this coil to fit if my model has the "Pink" - 455mm Height coil fitted?
No, you must keep with the original Toyota designed specification coil else you may experience issues with the Active Height Control (AHC) settings.

How do I know what coil is fitted?
Unfortunately, Toyota marked the originally fitted AHC coil options with a colour coding as per our images and give the Free height as follows,
Purple painted Mark (Our Coil002) - Height 485mm (free height) or
Pink painted Mark - Height 455mm (free height - which we do not stock)

What's the ride like?
The ride will ride as per the original setup.

Can I fit an uprated rear coil if I have AHC fitted?
Simple answer is no, AHC system uses the dampers as well to control ride heights etc. We tried extensively in conjunction with a customer to try to increase the spring rate of his 100 series fitted with AHC, even increasing the wire diameter by as little as 0.5mm occasionally pending load brought on the suspension warning lights etc, therefore we have had suplex make a coil to the exact rates of the Purple band coil - 485mm Free Length.
