A new aftermarket Left Hand, passenger side Front Brake Caliper for the Hilux Surf Pickup KUN25 & KUN26 Without Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) from the date codes listed. The new caliper comes complete with pad pins and the retainer clip.

Mk6 Hilux pickup KUN25 & KUN26 with chassis numbers as follows - (please check this on your chassis plate)
- Chassis number starting with AHT from 08/2005 to 10/2008
- Chassis number starting with MRO from 08/2005 to 01/2012
- Caliper has a pad opening height of 119mm - please see images - Use pads PAD005 or PAD005G
About the Caliper:
- This a fixed “4 pot” (4 piston) brake caliper. As the name suggests it is fixed to the hub via two bolts so that the pistons are arranged on opposite sides of the brake disc providing maximum performance. All 4 pistons are the same size.
- Each side of the caliper has 2 pistons acting on each brake pad which provides increased braking efficiency.
- Pads are held in by 2 brake pad pins and a retaining clip that come with the caliper. Applying a smear of “Copper Slip” grease to the pins and back of the brake pads will help with brake squeal or the pad sticking when the caliper is in operation.
- A common brake caliper fault is that one or more pistons start to seize and stick (usually down to a split dust seal), this in turn, can create brake pull under braking or excessive heat build-up between pads and discs whereby the pad is held against the disc. When the pedal is released the caliper pistons should retract smoothly clearing the pad from the disc.
- A sticking piston can be the cause of a warped or badly worn disc and pad, it’s also usually the cause of imbalanced front braking.
